Hi, I'm Maxine.

I created Be Kind Studios after looking for a Pilates studio that felt supportive, intentional, and welcoming, and deciding to build one myself.

Pregnancy is a beautiful, life-changing experience. It’s also not always easy.

For a lot of people, nausea shows up early and sticks around longer than expected. It can make even the simplest parts of your day feel a little harder.

If you’re in it right now, you’re not alone. And while there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, there are small things that can help take the edge off.

Start Your Morning Gently

Mornings tend to be the hardest.

Instead of jumping straight into your day, give your body a minute to catch up. Keeping something light by your bed, like crackers or fruit, can help before you even get up.

When you are ready to eat, keep it simple. Think easy, balanced options that don’t feel heavy but still give you some energy.

Find What Actually Settles Your Stomach

Certain ingredients can make a difference, especially ginger and peppermint.

Whether that looks like tea, infused water, or something cold like a smoothie or yogurt bowl, it’s worth experimenting to see what your body responds to.

Some days it works. Some days it doesn’t. That’s part of it.

Cold Foods Can Help More Than You Think

When nausea is strong, warm foods can feel like too much.

Cold options tend to be easier. Smoothies, fruit, yogurt, or even frozen pops made from juice or herbal tea can feel more manageable and help you stay hydrated at the same time.

Don’t Let Yourself Get Too Hungry

An empty stomach can make nausea worse, especially in the morning.

Eating small amounts more frequently throughout the day can help keep things steady. It doesn’t have to be a full meal every time. Just enough to keep your body from dipping too low.

Give Yourself Space to Slow Down

Not every day is going to feel productive, and that’s okay.

If your body is asking you to rest, listen to it. Gentle movement like walking or light stretching can help on some days, but there’s no pressure to push through if it doesn’t feel right.

A Little Distraction Goes a Long Way

Sometimes the best thing you can do is shift your focus.

Put on something light, go for a short walk, or call a friend. Even a small change in your environment can help take your mind off how you’re feeling.

You’re Allowed to Take This One Day at a Time

Pregnancy nausea can feel all-consuming when you’re in it.

But it won’t last forever.

Be patient with yourself. Adjust where you need to. And remember that getting through the day is enough.
